Wise & Young is the Boston-based duo of percussionist Peter Wise and violinist Jeffrey Young, who create electronically effected instrumental music. The duo mines classical, rock, jazz and electronic influences and pulls nuance and wonder as much from traditional instruments like violin and drums as from found materials, pots and pans, and eviscerated ’80s drum machines. They develop their music collaboratively through a process of improvisation, recording, and revision.

Nick Joliat is a composer, pianist and programmer who is pursuing the expressive and technical outer limits of toy electronic keyboards through composition and improvisation.  In his recent pieces he is accompanied on guitar and keyboard by Dan Wick, a multi-instrumentalist who performs in Boston’s experimental scene, including as a free-jazz pianist and as a guitarist and composer in post-rock band The Numbers Have Names
