Mapping out utopia: 70s counterculture walking tour
Where and when
1pm-2pm, Sat. Sept 9.
Practice Space
1307 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139
What
Come join Practice Space, East Cambridge Business Association & Tim Devin (author of “Mapping out utopia: 1970s Boston-area counterculture”) for a free hour-long walking tour of 70s countercultural Inman Square.

In the 60s and 70s, the Boston area was one of the focal points of the counterculture, and Cambridge was its hub. Inman Square itself was home to over a dozen mission-based orgs and businesses– from alternative schools like Trout Fishing in America, to research groups like the Assassination Information Bureau, to feminist groups like the Mass. Feminist Credit Union.

Come take a countercultural jaunt through history with us. We’ll leave at 1pm from Practice Space, and return around 2pm for a discussion– and a reception for Tim’s new book.

Families and kids are welcome!
