A group of International music heavy hitters unite for a single show and recording of Malian guitar music drawn from the diverse cultures in the country, from the Savannah to the Sahara, the music of the Bambara griots, the Songhai, and the Taureg nomads of the North. Guitarist Nathaniel Braddock (Air Congo, Occidental Brothers Dance Band) is joined on guitar by journalist and musician Banning Eyre (Afropop Worldwide), bassist Mike Rivard (Club d’Elf), and percussionists Bertram Lehman and Idrissa Kone for a rollicking tour of some of the heaviest music traditions around.
