An Afternoon with Deborah Stratman
A series of films exploring and celebrating the Chicago-based artist and filmmaker, Deborah Stratman. Much of her work points to the relationships between physical environments and human struggles for power and control that play out on the land. Recent projects have addressed freedom, expansionism, surveillance, sonic warfare, public speech, ghosts, sinkholes, levitation, propagation, orthoptera, raptors, comets and faith. Deborah Stratman will attend in person for a post-screening discussion with Ernst Karel, Assistant Director of the Film Study Center at Harvard. Co-presented with the Balagan Film Series, the Film Study Center at Harvard University and the Harvard Art Museums.
