We’ve been keeping an eye on JP musician and music lover Con Tex as he has grown his residency at Midway Cafe. Molting the feathers of its WFR past, this first Tuesday showcase – now entitled ‘First, You’sday’ – embraces the local, the strange, and the woefully unsung.

But tonight he briefly hands off the reins (as he soaks up some Florida sun) to fellow JP musician ACLU Benefit. This gallivanting and galvanizing bard hosts an eclectic night, with humorous humbug SPORTS COACH, Boston speedo-punk stalwarts FUNERAL CONE, itinerant grizzler NATE VENTURA (mem. Buttercup), and a new band featuring the ACLU Benefit himself collaborating with a member of Math the Band for AEROBICS! (exclamation mark included). A lighthearted mood pervades, but with a sinister undertow. Be forewarned.
