Looking for a quick inspiration burst for your Wednesday afternoon? Join the staff of MIT’s List Visual Arts Center for an hour long sketch-session! A fun new way to interact with the sculptures of featured artist Kathleen Ryan, this quick event calls for a brief walk through tour and a little creativity.
Kathleen Ryan’s sculpture exhibit Cultivator features a number of her grand scale sculptures, often created from industrial materials such as cement or wrought iron. Most of the sculptures in the collection play with scale, and how to make something small into something surprising. The general size of the sculptures, combined with their heaviness, make the object of sketching them small a particularly fun challenge.
The sketching tour will be additionally complimented with drawing prompts and tips for all budding artists.
Free to the public, all that is required is an RSVP, which can be made through the event page at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sketch-session-playing-with-scale-tickets-55076014843?aff=efbeventtix&fbclid=IwAR1Gi1PzXFCRIyH8Pg6RI4SJhob3Jq-nT-n2f93bgtGYsXxjx0JVuTZyZL4
