New England’s master of literary macabre, Stephen King, has seen plenty of his work adapted to both the small and big screens. Tonight, the Brattle will be showcasing one of those whose transition to film went smoother than silk, just in time to get you in the Halloween spirit. Following their relocation to rural Maine, university doctor Louis Creed (Dale Midkiff) thinks he and his family have it made. Time for a wake up call. Soon after a terrible tragedy strikes which makes Louis reconsider the local stories of a Native American burial ground with certain “regenerative” qualities. Sometimes, dead is better.
