Violence Transformed, Stand Together demonstrates the ability of art and artists to confront and mediate violence through social awareness, social change, and social justice. The exhibit pairs individuals from the Tufts art community – teachers, artists, students, and mentors – to create works either collaboratively or in conversation with each other. These works challenge the hate, bigotry, and violence that permeate our society and propose a more tolerant future. Through this exhibition, Violence Transformed hopes to open up socially engaged art to more diverse audiences and promote a socially-conscious culture.
