Mask Building Workshop:
Grady Roper is a visual and musical performance artist from Texas, whose main project is Attic Ted, a weirdo cabaret post punk gothic carnival music project that features Roper as different characters by using multiple handmade masks. Grady will be hosting a workshop, inviting the public to construct their own masks. The workshop feature utilizing cardboard box material and hot glue guns and acrylic paint and friendly conversation to explore your alter-ego limits. Attic Ted has been wearing masks and performing music all over the USA and Europe for over 15 years, and understands how mask wearing creates a freedom of expression, not only from being onstage, but also as an audience member. Dancing wild is easier when no one can see you… So, these workshops have been incorporated into Attic Ted tours. Come build a mask of Wednesday night, and consider coming to the concert on Thursday, expanding the idea of what it means to participate in watching music. … Workshop participants are encouraged to bring their own hot glue gun, scissors/box cutter, and any random acrylic paint/brushes they are willing to share. Expect a small informal affair, as in just making art with friends.. Please and Thank You..
