NYC-based trio M/S/T returns to Boston with their debut album (released on digital and cassette at moonvillain.com). Saxophone sandwiched between double drum sets will make for an ear-meal to remember. Check out the album here:
Damon Smith has become a driving force in the free improv scene, playing bass alongside an impressive list contemporary performers including John Butcher, Henry Kaiser, Weasel Walter, Ava Mendoza, Joe McPhee, Sandy Ewen, and many more.
For this event, he’ll be playing solo though; performing an untitled piece by Cecil Taylor.
Kicking off the night will be a set from Brain Coat 3 – a new trio of veteran players featuring Keiichi Hashimoto (guitar, brass, reeds), Jim Warshauer (reeds, flutes), and Eric Dahlman (trumpet, electronics).
We’re excited to return to this venue which has served us well in the past. As always here, we ask that you take your shoes off before going into the main room to protect the soft padded floor (used as a dance studio normally).
