LIEF HALL is an interdisciplinary artist and musician living in Vancouver, BC. Previously one half of Canadian ‘femme noir’ experimental pop duo MYTHS, Hall began her solo music project while living in Berlin in 2014, emerging out of her practice as an audio-visual performance artist, experimental vocalist, and electronic music producer. Her live music performances often incorporate visuals, sets and costumes as well as experimental vocal improvisation. She has performed her solo music alongside such artists as Bear in Heaven and Inga Coupland and was named on NME’s list of ’50 Brand New Artists Set to Storm in 2015. Hall’s work has been presented and performed in such galleries as the Western Front, Vancouver Art Gallery, Surrey Art Gallery and Mercer Union, and she is currently doing her Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC.

SOLID STATE ENTITY: Tinkering with time signature and layered textural soundscapes solid state entity aims to achieve a state where rhythmic structure and dissociated fragmentation coexists simultaneously. A state where the emptiness of industrialized society expands into a nocturnal yearning for the spiritual. The often rigid format of dance music gives way to cavernous voids and broken grids that float above pulsating rhythms. The momentum and energies of the dance floor persist in a subterranean habitat below a sky of dark and expansive fragmentation.

LEX RUSSO is an electronic composer and synthesist currently based in Somerville, MA. Russo’s work as both Vehement Caress and Grutch seeks to bridge the gap between immersive texture, rhythmic technicality, ephemera & viscera. Performing under the previously listed monikers & others over the past decade, Russo has developed a broad sonic vocabulary culled from influences in heavy metal, industrial texture, 60’s and 70’s synth pioneers & experimental composers.

MARGERY KEMPE is the newest freakout brainchild of Rachael & Jean-Paul Beauchemin, with vocals provided by Alexandra Ghiz. Margery Kempe is best described as Pre-baroque vocal music traditions presented through the lens of psychedelic electro acoustics.
