Sometimes shows and the performers that they are comprised of, hurtling like so many space rocks through the universe, come into contact with one another. Sometimes destruction is the result. On other occasions the two bodies become conjoined, resulting in an entirely new body.
This show is an entirely new body kind of situation. And a large, nearly “fest-like” one at that.
KEE AVIL brings a deeply experimental brand of “pop” with her across the US/Canadian border from Montreal. Experimental sometimes guitar music that really seems to bleed electronics organically. I almost want to use the electroacoustic tag… DITCH FACTOR is massachusetts based and a bit mysterious and BRAND NEW! First Boston show. And guitar goddess Wendy Eisenberg is in the thick of it and we can’t wait to hear her bust out with the new jams. That’s enough already, but NO, brand new supergroup DUCK YED is playing too!? That’s a quartet of Angela Sawyer + id m theftable + Stephanie Germaine + Matt Robidoux for you! Untouchable noise paegentry awaits! And that latter ace axe slinger, Robidoux is only on loan from Oakland, CA briefly so catch him while you can!!
Well traveled and locally beloved experimental songsmith/soundmaker DAMIEN SCALISE is next on this unwieldy yet burning brightly, bill. Damien could literally take us anywhere on this solo journey. Take us Damien! PAINTED FACES offer a glittering synth drenched brand of lofi weird pop that is more enchanting than demanding so take that chill pill and ease on in for some’a this. FRIGID makes lower case noise and ambient sounds, emitting from Cambridge MA, and is one of the Hassle’s own. And last but certainly not least, because if you believe in least, really, what are you doing reading to the bottom of this show blurb anyway, is GOLDEN EGG (aka Wicked Rot). We’ve encountered this character before, misery swathed experimental folk and noise isn’t cracked as much it is worn (but it is still cracked). All of it @ DAP.
