Iceland native Katrín Sigurdardóttir displays two of her most recent projects at the MIT List Visual Arts Center in Cambridge. Her architectural sculptures play with the viewer’s perception of space and scale, blending real locations with the abstraction of memory. In her project “Ellefu”, she uses miniature, abstracted interior renditions of her childhood home, noting how our memories are often hard to pin down. Her other project “Unbuilt Residencies in Reykjavik, 1925-1930” uses unrealized architectural drafts of houses to then destroy and build back together.
