Doug Aitken‘s New Horizon installation affords the public a unique opportunity to appreciate art within the larger context of the new horizons that are shaping our modern landscape. A blend of installation and spontaneous “happening,” the viewing of Aitken’s hot-air balloon will coincide with a talk by MIT Technology Review editor Gideon Lichfield and Boston Globe Culture Writer Jeneé Osterheldt on the future of information in the technological world. The discussion and installation will also be complemented with a musical performance by Julie Byrne, Julianna Barwick, and Mary Lattimore.
