Whether you feel a cool breeze or just a bunch of hot air you cannot deny the hypnotic grip of the story-telling folk gangster Frank Hurricane. Can’t say where he’s from because the man’s from everywhere but I will say he is the only true Bostonian who only ever lived here for a year and change. Anyhow this massive persona, hurricane of love and gripping talesman comes back home this fine evening to lay down the American primitive hammer alongside veteran guitar felon Glenn Jones. This is one magical pairing of psych-folk pillars if ever there was one. Plus Frank has Jewel Eye from Philly on the holy road with him to lay it down and pick it up wherever possible and Providence’s Allysen Callery shows support in her powerfully gentle way. Always a pleasure to have Allysen up here and it seems to be more frequent lately, glad to see other folks catching on to her beautiful musings that she will bring to Cambridge this evening. Should be one heavenly night of music at the very special Blue Bag Records. It might get cramped so don’t be afraid to arrive on time, we’ll probably wrap up around 11 and all go hang at my house after.
