Poetry: First Fridays ft. Kofi Dadzie

Doors open and dinner is served at 7.
Open mic begins around 7:30. Bring your friends! Bring your art! You are welcome! Free for under 26, $10 suggested donation for over 26. Organized by the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain and hosted by Kaleigh O’Keefe.
FEATURED ARTIST: Kofi Dadzie
Kofi Dadzie is a Ghanaian poet from Westborough, Massachusetts by way of New York. Dadzie has been competing in youth slams since 2013. Dadzie was a returning member of Boston’s Brave New Voices runner-up team, a member of the third place finishing House Slam team at the national poetry slam, and a fifth place finisher at the Individual World Poetry Slam in Spokane Washington. Dadzie uses writing as his central form of artistic expression and activism. His hobbies include frying plantains, and debating the artistic relevance of Meek Mill.
