faUSt have taken the long and winding road. Jean-Hervé Peron and Werner Diermaier, both founding members of the group, have endured the ebbs and flows of the band over the decades and will tie the faUSt ship off for us in Boston for a performance on July 18th. Always among the more magically touched and intriguing of Germany’s wide ranging krautrock & kosmische musik communities of performers, Faust (now faUSt) has not only proven to be one of the most influential groups of that lot, but in their own circuitous way they’ve become one of the most enduring as well. Peron and Diermaier have been at the center of a slew of fantastic recordings by the band, going back a decade +, since the band’s “relaunch.” When you are uncompromising in your sonic adventure that’s how it can go. Peron & Diermaier’s faUSt is just that. Very much looking forward to what memories of Dadaist collage will surface as the messy spirit of this wonderful band touches down @ Brighton Music Hall for all of us Bostonians.
Providence’s Alec K Redfern and the Eyesores have been winding their own path through the American and New England underground for 20+ years now! Fronted by composer Redfearn, most often leading the motley crew by accordian through Eastern European tinged, improv infected alternate universe/underground classics, the Eyesores are a force that will have you wondering instantly if they are not simply the best band going that you didn’t know was from just just around the bend.
Opening with a bent sweetness that vaporizes instantly at first lurching bite of this conjoined sax/violin being, Massachusetts’ Creative Healing is the anti-funk bunch you’ve been wanting for. They really don’t care about whether you dance or not. They’re here about for your ears and mind. What you do with your feet, I mean that’s your business. They’re about to release a record on Feeding Tube Records. A scarlet letter to wear with utmost pride. Get there early or feel utter sadness later.
