Falling Down

We’ve all been there, just not to the same degree as William Foster (Michael Douglas). Fed up with his professional life, family situation and society overall, Foster abandons his car in the middle of Godawful gridlock and sets off to remedy the ills of his existence. But it involves a lot of guns and violence. Pretty soon he’s being sought after by a detective (Robert Duvall) as he dishing out everyman pain to what’s been ticking him off. Weirdly enough, you’ll probably be sympathizing with him at least partly way through. Braver than most Hollywood fare, Falling Down is a throwback to the antihero films of the 70s that features an intense performance from Douglas on top of legit quibbles with the American way of living.
