ETHEREAL STRING CEREMONY

Ethereal string ceremony indeed. Three exceptional musicians will gather in our intimate performance space to play separate and perhaps together for the folks smart enough to get a ticket in advance. This event is bound to sell out. To begin we have local character Brittany Karlson doing her very unique upright bass compositions. Brittany is a regular in various ensembles around town and often appears at the abandoned bear cages shows of legend. Sometimes with accompaniment, as you find on her bandcamp, Karl walks upright in a way that makes it oh so fun to follow along. Our next performer needs a special introduction of course, as the occasion itself was arranged for her pleasure. Susan Alcorn, the accomplished pedal steel guitarist whose recordings we have cherished for years will be coming to play for us. The criminally under-appreciated Alcorn masterfully oscillates between the charming and the challenging and you will love every minute of it. She actually mentioned playing a bit with our final act of the night, formidable string-smith Glenn Jones so here’s hoping they’re feeling a sudden duo. Either way watching Glenn go off on guitars and banjo in our intimate space will be a sight to behold, making the whole evening bona fide baptism of beautiful string sounds.
