If you’ve been to the Lilypad, you know that part of what makes it a great place to see music is that it’s always decorated with unique and original work by local artists. The latest artist to grace the walls is Somerville’s Dan Mayzee of MayzeeWorks, who’ll be celebrating the completion of his summer mural in the space this Friday. Dan, who is also a purveyor of gorgeous, psychedelic posters for local bands, has spent the past several weeks coming into the venue in off-hours and creating a mural that features a life-giving woman in a toga, gorgeous ocean water, and an actual narwhal soaking it all in. Come to the Lilypad around 10 to see the finished product and bask in the tunes of wild psych-folk harmonies of BONG WISH and the grooves of Sunshine City.10 pm, free, & I’m told there are snacks. –  John Shakespear
