In this walk through of artist Huma Bhabha’s featured exhibit “They Live” at Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art, viewers will be guided through ICA curator Eva Respini’s process in the selection of pieces for display as well as her insights on the work as a collective.
The exhibit, taking place March 23rd-May 27th 2019, is a combination of all of the artist’s preferred mediums, including sculpture, photography and drawing. Often showcasing found items and an emphasis on the human figure, Bhabha’s work displays particular interest in the grotesque, ancient artifacts, and even the strikingly incorporated elements of sci-fi and religion.
This exhibit being “the largest survey of the artist’s work to date”, as stated on the ICA’s official website, and the one of a kind insight into the mind of the curator who made this collection possible makes this a definite do not miss!
