Ona Canoa (w.mass)
Ona Canoa is a new Western Massachusetts folk trio with a timeless sound. The group is comprised of Chelsie Field (baritone ukulele/ vox), Eliza Hollister (flute/ vox), and Tess Burdick (guitar/vox). The trio’s foundation as best friends is evident in their performances, and their connection on stage inspires joy in listeners of all ages. With their tight, three-part harmonies and unique songwriting ability, Ona Canoa puts on a show you will not want to miss.
Big Fuzzy (Boston)
Long time Boston-based duo of guitarist Max Kennedy and singer Anneke Reich perform with a brand new band featuring Austin Birdy and drums and Dan Raney on bass.
Big Fuzzy “carves out a space between folk, jazz, and the avant-garde, conjuring up serene landscapes and scenes of beguiling discordance and blowing you away with startling shifts in melody and vocal harmony.”
– Jordan Horowitz
Kimaya Diggs (w.mass)
With influences spanning many genres, Kimaya Diggs melds the folky acrobatics of Joni Mitchell, the jazz stylings of Ella Fitzgerald, the catchy soul of Lianne LaHavas, and yet has something you can’t quite put your finger on that makes her entirely unique. Her mastery of her voice is the focal point of each performance, and a transfixing experience.
Hollow Deck (w.mass)
Hollow Deck is the musical collaboration of Mia Friedman and Andy Allen. Their sound straddles the worlds of beautiful folk songs and experimental sound collage. “Using a large array of instruments — banjo, fiddle, tenor sax clarinet, flute, drum machine, etc. — the duo easily transcends any real or imaginary boundaries of what’s possible to do with just four hands. The results are as amazing as they are hard to categorize.”
-Byron Coley
