Bad History Month, Giving Up (KY), NEST, and Ragu

Fri, Jun 8 2018 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Herter Park Amphitheatre 7pm All Ages
FREE Outdoor Show!

DIY stalwarts GIVING UP are actually more of a wont-quit outfit. This gang have become bonafide veterans of the Allston basement scene despite being based in Kentucky, Iowa and Illinois. That’s cause they’re Sophomore Lounge crew, our Louisville fam, and they’ve been bringing their scrappy punk and pop realness to us Bostonians for over 5 years now. How appropriate then that Bad History Month will be around for this damn reunion – like that JP Drive In show in 2013 with G Toss and Saralee <3 <3 For those of who you don’t know your Boston history, Bad History Month has been around forever in one way or another and makes the best damn despair jams you’ve ever heard. We are honored to have them here in Herter park, the reclaimed amphitheatre that our nonprofit has been assisting in cleaning and making accessible to the public! The night will begin with a solo performance from Ragu - of Ragu and The Boys - who you’ve probably never heard because they all just graduated high school. But you wouldn’t know unless you read this blurb because their music just says “good band”. Plus check NEST the brand new band of familiar faces Katie Coriander of Earth Heart and organ doctor Erik Spooner. Very exceptional group of folks playing in the park so come take in this great space and enjoy a smattering of folk-at-heart drifter rock and a HASSLE FREE show! We will however be accepting $5 donations to assist with the medical bill of scene pillar and Hassle volunteer Kevin Dacey so bring a couple bucks for the dude. http://lowellspin.com/2018/05/sad-milk-a-benefit-show-for-kevin-dacey-preview/
