ANOTHER WORD FOR BEAUTY: A NIGHTOWLLS PRESENTATION

JOIN ON WITH LIVING AND LEARNING AND THE FORT POINT ARTS COMMUNITY FOR THE THIRD INSTALLMENT OF THE NIGHTOWLLS SERIES AT THE ASSEMBLAGE.
Every year in a women’s prison in Bogota, Columbia, a beauty pageant is organized and held among the inmates. Another Word For Beauty is a play, written by Academy Award nominated José Rivera, about this event and the underlying themes the women confront throughout the contest: feminism, exploitation, redemption, and freedom.
