ABOUT THE GROUPS
ComedySportZ
Our mission is to create fun, hilarious entertainment and learning experiences, for everyone. By designing experiences using improv and comedy, we are engaging more people in an environment built on fun and play, empowering the people of Boston and Greater Boston area to live their best possible lives. As part of the CSz Worldwide family, we’re powered by our core values of Collaboration, Inspiration, Gratitude and Fun.
ComedySportz is in 30 cities nationwide, in Europe, and now…Boston! Two teams battle for laughs and points as they make up scenes, games and songs on the spot, in the spirit of TV’s Whose Line Is It Anyway? A referee governs the action, calling fouls and keeping the match moving at a blistering pace. The audience is always a part of this interactive show, and audience volunteers sometimes even wind up on stage. It’s perfect for dates, a night out on the town, or even quality time with friends and family.

RIOT THEATER COMPANY
Riot Theater Company seeks to create a home for some of Boston’s best comedy. Boston has an abundance of talent and never enough stages to put it on. The Riot Theater, in residence at The Rozzie Square Theater seeks to bring quality comedy to a part of Boston that has a wealth of support for the arts but little in the way of a regular comedy scene.

THE FOOTLIGHT CLUB
The Footlight Club is America’s oldest community theater and has produced performances every year since 1877. The Footlight Club’s members have sustained the organization’s mission: To present the best in non-professional theater to a broad-based audience, and to preserve and maintain Eliot Hall as a community resource.

PRAXIS STAGE
As a company, we seek to cultivate a core of artists who burn to tell stories that address injustice and imagine a more equitable and truly democratic society, while also continually pulling in new artists to play with us, paying particular attention to forging productions with a richness in diversity of identity, and with an admitted secondary mission of having a particularly keen eye out for Boston born and raised talent to grace our stages.
An additional tenant of Praxis Stage involves connecting with activist groups working on the issues our plays raise, and providing them spaces at our shows to raise awareness about those issues through brief talk-backs, providing literature in our lobbies, and engaging in “next steps” dialogues with our patrons.

We are dedicated to providing artistic opportunities which allow the expression of diverse ideas to traditional and non-traditional audiences. Our work is defined by the passion of individual artists in partnership with the culture of professionalism and collaboration we build around each of our creative endeavors.
