Noell Dorsey is a singer, improviser and experimental vocalist based in Somerville MA. She is 1 of 6 members of psych-rock outfit Major Stars. She also performs with improv duos Avoidance and Beautiful Weekend. Coming from a classical singing background she incorporates various vocal techniques and extensions to create a textural and uninhibited terrain. For her performance at Bromfield, Dorsey will explore the intersections of voice and amplification.

Variations: Music at Bromfield Gallery is a monthly series devoted to presenting site-specific performances of improvised music at the Bromfield Gallery in Boston’s South End. The series is curated by Michael Rosenstein.
