Join us Saturday, October 13th for an evening of slow fashion futurism: a runway show and pop up market of sustainable fashion featuring Blueprints Workshop (Blueprints for Sewing), Slow Process, Practice Space, Dyer Maker, Tree House Farms, Nathalia JMag, Vivant Vintage, Emmy Ember, with floral design and botanical jewelry by Thistle and Bone. We will also host a series of slow fashion DIY workshops on Sunday, October 14th.

Future Forecast: A Slow Fashion Exchange will explore and celebrate ‘Slow Fashion’ – a philosophy that focuses on sustainability, local sourcing, recycling, accessibility, mindfulness, and community.

The fashion industry, like many others, is rife with problems. These problems touch every part of human experience, from the unsafe conditions and insufficient wages workers face, to the effect of pesticides, finishing chemicals and synthetic dyes on our environment, to the socially accepted disposability of clothing and the waste generated by the industry.
Slow Fashion seeks to explore alternative modes of fashion that shift the focus away from mass production, profit, and status and towards compassion, creativity, connection and craftsmanship.
The Future Forecast pop up market will allow slow fashion purveyors to show and sell their work and spark conversation in the community. We hope to include demos, textile education, a photo booth, and other interactive projects to engage attendees in reconsidering what fashion means to them.
Workshops on Sunday will allow participants to try some of the handcrafting techniques featured in the Blueprints Workshop collection, including felting, natural dyeing, weaving, and creating floral jewelry.
