Basement Babes Poetry, Basement Babes Zine

June

It’s strawberry season in Maine
and so
our bellies are mountains
and your mouth is full of lake water
where we went
to cleanse our red stained bodies
but our bodies

wild and
dangerous
are never clean.

You make me feel like
deep water.
