Mix together the spirit of garage rock, a fabulous frontman and an amazingly talented and tight band and you have Hunx and his Punx. They played with Shannon & the Clams and The Fagettes at T.T. The Bears on April 24th. T.T.’s was fully packed and the crowd was not disappointed. Frontman Seth Bogart straddled, gyrated, danced and teased the entire front row in a leather jacket, stockings, lipstick and his Fez hat. The musicianship was extremely tight. They overcame technical difficulties with grace and played selections from both Gay Singles and Too Young To Be in Love. Hunx draws from the sound of gritty garage rock and wistfully dreamy girl groups from the 60s. Combine that with super sassy lyrics about teenage heartbreak and jubilation, as well as a superb amount of energy and attitude. Highlights included You Don’t Like Rock N’ Roll and Bad Boy.
