If the mundanity of the reality you face has got you feeling a little dull tonight, make sure you get over to Great Scott for some enlightening sounds escaping from the deep “whatever.” The wonderful noise-rock of Coaches will eliminate your problems and warm your heart with their fuzzy guitars and steady, focused vocals. The alarmingly tight Chandos will amaze you with their intelligently sculpted riff-driven noise. They’ve really mastered balancing the elements of pop and punk in their songs with a heavy, urgent feel. Check out Infinity Girl’s relaxing, daydreamy songs. Their often hushed vocals are overwhelmed and beautifully consumed by a hurricane of guitar power. Perhaps the most compelling reason for you to put your body at this show is to see the locals, Soccer Mom, play one last show. They’ve got the hooks, but they’re hanging them up for good. Never again will their sounds echo throughout Boston and make everyone feel good. One more thing to not feel bad about. And no one left to drive you to practice . . .
