This summer the Multicultural Arts Center welcomes the artists of NAWA, an association that has, for 125 years, fostered public awareness of and interest in visual art created by women. Dating back to 1889, NAWA has provided women in the United States with a space to exhibit and learn from each other during times when women were excluded from participating in the art world. As women are continuously reestablishing their place in arts, we celebrate this open forum that promotes culture and education in a constantly changing world. So we present “Women of Vision,” a collection of works by contemporary women artists from Massachusetts ranging from striking portraiture to dynamic abstract pieces. These works reflect on the artistic exploration of women artists here and now.
