If you like breathtakingly beautiful music perfect for late night ceiling-gazing, let the Elks Lodge basement be your bedroom away from your bedroom on Thursday. Topping the bill is Quilt, whose hushed, urgent melodies feel close, warm, and scratchy as the band’s namesake. Gracie Jackson sounds like she might be strumming from the bottom of a well while you sit up top, listening to her sultry echoes seep out into the landscape. Last last time I saw Squirrel Flower, her looping, desolate pop gave me goosebumps the size of small hills (read: it’s gorgeous), and Judy Chong will open the night with some dusty, bare-boned acoustic goodness. It may not look like your bedroom, but with all the people who are gonna be at this thing it will sure feel warm and cozy.
