Take a knee and show some respect to a true blue pioneer. Recently passed, local legend OTTO PIENE’s career since moving to Boston over 40 years ago has literally established New England as a breeding ground for art in technology on an international level. This exhibit celebrates his work from 1967 to 2014 which he began at MIT as one of the first Center for Advanced Visual Studies (CAVS) students, a program he ended up being director of for 20 years. Catch up on Piene’s (pronounced PEEN-uh) videos, projections, photos and other ephemera which will span the man’s most important moments/projects. Stay tuned to BostonHassle.com/Art to find out about the TBA Wednesday evening series of (free!) symposiums regarding Peine’s history and work.
The exhibit is curated by George Fifield, Joseph Ketner II and John Powell and pulls heavily from the CAVS archives at MIT.
