It’s time for another edition of weird, funky, and all around underground courtesy of brainARTS and the Boston Hassle. This little shindig will get its groove on at Out of the Blue Too, the latest “hot” art gallery turned show space in town (that’s hot as in hip, not hot as in damn that burns!). It’s a unique lineup TONIGHT – though isn’t it always?! – where Boston psych rock stunnahs Major Stars light up the fuckin room with their hallucinagized magic carpet ride through everything that made early 70’s psychedelic garage rock so special. Having been a band for nearly 20 years, this sextet is one tight collective of extended wiry guitar solos and 90’s alt riffs. They’ll be ripping it up with the twitchy noise of RANGDA – a lion’s roar trio featuring the dueling electric guitars of Ben Chasny and Richard Bishop + the mighty Chris Corsano on the kit. But wait, there’s more! If you call in the next 10 minutes, you also get the atmospheric New Pope (all the way from Ireland!!) whose lo-fi psych-popsicles will certainly wet your whistle. Don’t be tired and lame.
