When youngsters at a camp are sharing scary stories around the fire, the local legend of axe murderer “Madman Marz” is recalled. You can probably guess where this is going; sex, death by axe, etc. Is it a ripoff of Friday the 13th? Yes. But Madman has its own unique characteristics that set it apart from other slashers in the genre, featuring an outstanding synthesized score, some carefully thought out cinematography and a few creepy surprises. Check it out if you can, if only for a weird hot tub scene (you’ll know what I mean when you watch it).
