DMA’S make music that recalls a more tuneful & folk-tinged version of the Arctic Monkeys – capable of grit and versed in the ways of driving, distorted choruses, but also possessed of sudden glimpses of tenderness, sweet vocal harmonies, and pop-friendly synth interludes. Fresh off performances at Bonnaroo, The Late Show, SXSW and, well, wherever else a band performs when they break through on an international scale, these three Aussie bros roll into Great Scott on Tuesday 3/29 with Philly indie-rockers Cold Fronts. With punk-rock swagger, satisfying Fidlar-esque harmonizing guitars, and just the right dose of pop sensibility, it’s no surprise these guys just got signed to Warner’s Sire and are currently whipping all over the East Coast. This bill will drive out whatever cold is left in this winter right off the dirty Allston sidewalks.
