As part of Lesley University’s Creativity Forum, psychologist and author Daniel Goleman will discuss his forthcoming book, A Force for Good: The Dalai Lama’s Vision for Our World, due out June 2015. Goleman wrote for The New York Timeson brain and behavioral sciences for 12 years and has published works on the meditative experience, healing emotions, and ecological, social, and emotional intelligence. In two previous works: Healing Emotions (1997) and Destructive Emotions (2004), Goleman collaborated with the Dalai Lama and western psychologists, neuroscientists, and Buddhist scholars in a discussion on the causes and conditions of afflictive emotions and how they can be overcome. He is a board member of the Mind and Life Institute, an academy dedicated to the scientific understanding of contemplative practices. This event is free and open to the public.
