Pittsburgh four-piece Run Forever keeps heels tapping and heads bobbing with a casual marriage of heartfelt and hard-hitting; palpitating songwriting filled with driving guitars and hooks dripping with melancholy. Imagine getting pulled into a dark room where slowcore is making out with post-hardcore while emo watches from the corner… it’s like that. Boston’s Dæphne flirts with the dynamic of fuzzy guitars and gossamer vocals, landing with a softcore grunge-gaze that forces its way into your ears, melting everything in its path before sinking deep into your soul. Slowing it down, the charmingly morose antifolk of Puppy Problems is sad in the kind of way that drinking wine can make cracked ceilings seem beautiful. Kitner (members of Choke Up and Save Ends) will tickle your heart with a safety pin while massaging your shoulders; full bodied and bitter sweet, their energetic indie-pop is out for blood.
