Ladies and gentlemen, dudes and dudettes, what better way to celebrate the reopening / reimagining of a classic local venue than with the a multi-pronged attack on and titillation of the senses? This auspicious Saturday night in Allston (formerly “Rock City”) sees the inaugural music event for freshly-minted underground venue The ER (formerly The Womb). If that paradigm shift weren’t enough to get psyched about (it is), this is also the album release show for shoegaze locals Prom Night. Additionally, New Zealand-based Salad Boys are marking this date as their only Boston stop on their first U.S. tour. Boston-based dreamers Burglary Years and pop punkers BDAY BOY help to round out the bill, along with NH’s Pleasure Gap angular, disjointedly catchy fuzzed sound. This is surely an event not to be missed. $5 gets you into the festivities by 8pm. Let’s do this.
