Get ready to take a trip through the wormhole that is your cerebral cortex on music. Boston Hassle presents a night of music as only they can, hosted by Deep Thoughts, running the gamut from near-musique concrete to hyperpersonal folk accompanied by extended techniquian guitar. All of these artists have deep roots to the Boston underground scene, and this lineup does a damn good job of representing many of the facets that make this scene so organic and unique. In any instance, you belong at D.T. — nowhere else will you be able to catch Andrew Bernstein (Horse Lords) performing who knows what kind of crazy solo saxophonic avant bizarro free jazz, Booker Stardrum (Cloud Becomes Your Hand) making it all polyrhythmic up in’hea, Andrea Pensado exploring the spaces between signals dispatched up and down your spine, Nick Neuberg (Particulars) building up and tearing down gorgeous sonic dioramas, and Secret Rodg (Matt D of several bands), troubadour of the underground forlorn, breaking your heart with some gorgeous tunes. Doors are at 8pm, and get there early so you can enjoy all of these great cats.
