Brooklyn-based PWR BTTM have been winning over a lot of people recently with a sound that manages to combine pop-punk and classic rock while avoiding the boring parts of both genre creating a joyful, bright, and queer-friendly style. New York’s 11th-hardest-working band of 2015 rides a wave of buzz into Allston this Friday for a show at Great Scott. Joining them as part of a short run of northeast dates are Northampton, MA shining lights And the Kids, an all-lady trio who manage to evoke Beach House and Built to Spill in the same song. Theirs is a bright, angular, dreamy shade of indie-rock. Rounding out the lineup are locals Kid Mountain, a six-piece who blend chiming guitars with driving rhythms and spacey vocals.
