Formerly working as Ghost of Electricity\, Ray’s output felt more rock band inspired with a drummer\, bassist and keyboardist bringing his tunes to life. Since then he has branched out deeper into more experimental timbres with synths and drum machines chugging away with beefy bass lines and metallic grooves. Let his guitar playing and vocal chops twist your brain into redefining the “songwriter”. Conveniently enough we have old friends of the former Bostonian\, Warped Forest\, taking up the next spot on the bill. Getting their start in Lowell\, Warped Forest began as a small guitar loop-based band and has since expanded through many generations of musicians and has finally landed on an outfit that pushes the sonic boundaries with a bombardment of timbres coming from their 5 members which includes two drummers. Their now Boston-based electro-acoustic freak folk is sure to send ya spiraling. Another pal Emma Leavitt of Brain Arts Org fame is slipping in on the bill as Solei! You could compare her sound to Ray’s approach\, but she definitely brings her own brand of experimental songwriting with her unconventional use of bass guitar as her lead instrument and resonant but haunting vocal melodies. Here to ground this bill is Grace Givertz. She’ll remind you where all these wild songwriters got their original inspiration….good ol’ acoustic folk to warm the late Autumn soul.
